The conception alone blesses all art.

In the approach to their new album, :aexattack and front man Axl Vers reached back extensively. In the course of 2 full years they took the long road towards a simple thought. Contemplating every possible aspect, from the overall philosophy including most basic questions of their own existence to the most random variables of success, just to bring them back to where it all started from: their own rehearsing studio and the joy in every single moment of creating music together.

The first 3 singles have already clarified the musical position of these five close friends: inside their specific 90ies sound scape of drums, bass, guitars and synths have they never sounded as natural, as defined and as tight before. All of a sudden, what they feel as a band, come across like the feeling of a successful comprehensive therapy. They got rid of all burdens and now step on the pedals with relieve – beefier, louder and more candid.

But the songs on LEVEL 7 also encompass stories of progress in personal and artistic respects in every title:
As does the opener SLOW, which reflects on the importance of an encouraging environment that enables such progress and development of time (Some people grow, some people slow).
SAMPLE PARANOID takes you by the hand with a subtly accented drum groove and leads love drunk to the problem of meeting someone else’s demands, just to realize: „I’m one man army strong“.
Then temporary LOVE concludes that any relationship is nothing but romance – nothing lasts forever, everything flows.
DONE and F Y (FUTURE YOUTH) complete the first chapter, to continue with HALLEY, the comet, and introduce a rapid, recurrent element.
The 7th track PALINDROME tends to unmask an underlying concept of LEVEL 7: a palindrome is a word that reads the same backward as forward. This stylistic element is also applied throughout the artwork of the album. A change in perspective is also a change in perception. That might as well be the ultimate finding of this group therapy.
So by the time we get to the next song MADONNA, the boys are all on the same page: fun first. If you wanna rock’n’roll, do it right. Don’t ever forget to party!
PARADISE brings this development to the first climax so far. This song expresses exactly what the opening statement wants to deliver: find out, what’s in you and bring it to the surface. That’s simply and precisely how art comes into existence. It is what it is. Organic, unique, inimitable.
Finally, PLACED IN SPACE manifests the awareness, that, even if we are just one little piece of the whole cosmic puzzle, we will always have our spot in between the stars.
